Our Spur-Winged Plover

A spur-winged plover has made a nest on the top field! It has laid four eggs. The plover is also called a masked plover or a masked lapwing. The plovers were brought from Australia in the 1930's.

The Spur-winged plover is 38 cm leisurely and heron like in flight, with an upright walk and tip- toeing run, this plover congregates in fields of root crops. Its wing spur is usually hidden. We have decided to call it .By Katie:) and Elena
